Garfield, MN was platted in 1882 and named after the 20th President of the United States, James Garfield. Garfield is a very small town with a population of 349, according to the 2020 census.
If you are ever in Garfield, the town boasts three dining options including; State Street Cafe, Fire Station Bar & Grill and the Garfield Pub. Garfield may be a small town, but you are surely to get along with the regulars visiting any of the dining options! The town is also located along the Central Lakes Trail, which is a 55 mile long bike trail stretching from Osakis to Fergus Falls. Definitely a must if you are an outdoors lover! In the summer, Garfield hosts Garfield Days which is the town festival and the biggest event of the year. Many times they bring in a fun band for this event.
