Ongoing Training
The SERVPRO system training is considered by graduates and owners to be comprehensive and focused on operations and business management training. Franchise owners will complete onboarding and a pre-classroom program, including home study and visits to an operating SERVPRO® franchise, before attending the NFTP.
A Business Development Program (BDP) Specialist will work with you to complete an information-gathering checklist in preparation for attending the NFTP held at the SERVPRO headquarters in Gallatin, Tennessee. This process begins approximately 45 days prior to coming to SERVPRO headquarters for NFTP.
NFTP is an in-depth training program at SERVPRO headquarters. The program involves both classroom and hands-on training with industry-leading instructors covering all aspects of owning and managing a SERVPRO franchise.
Post-graduation of the NFTP, startup assistance is provided by your BDP specialist. Your assigned BDP specialist will make monthly visits to your franchise during the first six months of operation.
Franchise Business Consultants (FBCs) assist and support your ongoing operations by helping you follow the SERVPRO Operating System.
Continuing education training opportunities and classes are offered for you and your employees.
E-learning modules will be made available to you via the SERVPRO intranet for you and your employees.

Using specific socioeconomic and demographic mapping criteria factoring in total population and poverty levels to get a net population amount, combined with the ability to meet certain SERVPRO service level response requirements.
While we have current owners with multiple licensed areas, only one new franchise territory license can be purchased at a time.
Upon meeting certain qualifying criteria over time, the franchisee may then be eligible to apply for and purchase an additional territory license(s).

A SERVPRO branded equipment package and professional cleaning products package are required and are a portion of the franchise purchase price.
If you are converting from an independent mitigation business to a SERVPRO franchise, specific instructions will be given regarding how your existing equipment may be accommodated.
Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC®) – The SERVPRO system services and property restoration practices are guided by the standards established by the IICRC® and are compliant with state-of-the-art drying science.
The IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) class is provided during the NFTP mentioned above. Franchise owners who provide specialized services (such as reconstruction, mold remediation or bio-hazard clean-up) may be required by state and local regulations to possess additional certifications and licenses to perform this type of work. Providing these types of specialized services are NOT a requirement for a SERVPRO franchise.
You must obtain any permits or licenses required by federal law, your state, or locality for performing the work of the Franchise. Some states may require that You hold a state contractor’s license.”

One of the ways that the SERVPRO franchise community generates awareness and business comes from simply building and maintaining long-term personal relationships at the local level within their specific territory(s) with various key “Centers of Influence” (COIs). This involves the franchise owner(s) along with the franchise marketing representatives networking with insurance providers (agents and adjusters), real estate professionals, property managers, various building trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.), first responders (fire, police, EMS), and any other types of decision-makers who can potentially send them business. Simply making them aware of who we are, what we do, and how we can help them.
More than 85% of all purchasing decisions now start online, therefore, a SERVPRO sanctioned professional website combined with Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and an effective social media presence are also critically important for consistently driving business and making the phone ring!
As a SERVPRO franchisee, you will be required to contribute an amount specified in your franchise agreement to an overall national marketing and advertising fund, which will then be used to perpetuate consistent brand awareness and consumer demand including – targeted TV and cable commercials (sports, weather, home & garden, etc.), sponsorships programs (PGA, and other charities, etc.) along with industry related print and magazine ads.
Finally, once you qualify, you will be allowed to participate in national account programs. The various national insurance providers and large commercial clients that are intended to drive additional business opportunities in your specific local area.
As part of your initial training and ongoing support, various resources are available on each of these topics. Our propriety Emergency Ready Profile (ERP) is just one example of what can be offered as a free service to our customers.
SERVPRO has a proprietary brand identity guide that establishes and maintains a consistent professional customer-facing image for brand awareness and professionalism.
All service vehicles must be SERVPRO Green and display the proper informational decals, including your approved phone number, and full franchise name as it appears in your Franchise License Agreement.
- Vehicles should display only SERVPRO-approved decals and information.
- Toll-free phone numbers are not allowed on vehicles.
- SERVPRO vans and vehicles must have a professional appearance, free of rust or dents, and be painted and have decals applied in accordance with SERVPRO policy.
(May include a variety of vehicle types to meet specific needs and local requirements).
Yes, the current SERVPRO Hero Ready Gear Program was created to outfit production crews who arrive on site and interact with the customer. Owners, marketing representatives and office staff are always encouraged to reinforce the look of our crews and brand. Uniforms may be purchased or leased from the SERVPRO Resource Center.

Specific fees and processes are outlined in your Franchise License Agreement and the Franchise Disclosure Document. Royalties are paid on a sliding scale and would decrease in percentage as your sales volume increases.
SERVPRO Franchise owners bill their customers utilizing claims processing software and Intuit/QuickBooks™. Franchise royalty payments are paid to SERVPRO headquarters monthly.
This process is clearly defined and outlined in your franchise license agreement.
When that time comes, SERVPRO HQ provides a Resale Assistance Program (RAP) and guidance to help connect buyers and sellers.
You will NOT need a brick and mortar storefront. However, you will be required to have a warehouse/office location in your assigned territory from which to conduct business. This is generally in an industrial or commercial business park area.
