Sissonville, West Virginia is located on the Kanawha County line. The town received its name from the founder John Sisson. Sissonville has an extensive history of flooding with three national disaster floods in 1998, 1999, and 2000. Sissonville was founded in 1802 and has since grown is size as land was purchased over the years. Sissonville is the home of Sissonville High School the Indians established in 1932. The largest employer in Sissonville is NGK Spark Plug Inc. manufacturing facility with over 300 employees. Sissonville has one country club named Edgewood Country Club where families go to play golf, community events, and swimming.
