Huntingdon, TN is the county seat of Carroll County. Huntingdon is a major proponent of arts and cultural affairs with a major attraction across West Tennessee and beyond to the beautiful downtown area being The Dixie Carter Performing Arts and Academic Enrichment Center (also known as Dixie PAC). Another main attraction to Huntingdon, TN is Carroll County 1000 Acre Recreational Lake. 1000 Acre Lake is the largest man-made lake in West Tennessee. 1000 Acre Lake has more than 22 miles of shoreline, holds over 17,000 acre-feet of water, and 75% of the lake has a water level of at least 20 feet. 1000 Acre Lake has so much to offer from its beaches, pavilions, restroom, and picnic tables to its water sports (boating, jet skiing, water skiing, and swimming) and fishing area. The lake is stocked with bass, bluegill, sunfish, catfish, and crappie. The gates are open 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset. The beaches are open from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
