Swampscott is a town located 15 miles north of Boston on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Originally populated by the Naumkeag native people, it was known as the “Land of Red Rocks.” Originally colonized as a modest fishing settlement as part of Saugus, it was later granted to Lynn as part of Ward One. Swampscott was officially declared its own town in 1852.
