Quincy is a coastal town in the Greater Boston metropolitan area. It's located in Norfolk County and a close suburb to Boston. As of 2020, the population was around 102,000 people.

History of Quincy, MA

Quincy is known as the "City of Presidents" because it is the birthplace of John Adams and John Quincy Adams, as well as John Hancock who was the president of the Continental Congress.

In 1792, Quincy was incorporated and named after John Quincy, the grandfather of Abigail Adams. In 1845, the town took its turn towards suburbanization with the Old Colony Railroad. In fact, Quincy is home to the first commercial railroad in the United States - Granite Railway.

Throughout history, Quincy was a shipbuilding center where many important and historical ships were built. It also became a place for aviation pioneering. One of the world's first airports was located in Quincy and was developed in part by Amelia Earhart.
