Shingle Springs - a town in the gold country foothills and sits directly on Highway 50 in El Dorado County has continued to develop since the 1850s. It was once a center for businesses and industries as the third oldest depot in California. Like many towns in California’s mother lode, Shingle Springs grew on the site of a mining camp which was set up by the gold miners during the California Gold Rush. The town name derived from a horse drawn shingle machine located near the springs at the edge of the mining camp. The clear springs made the town a natural stopping point for emigrants traveling. As the mining continued throughout the town, the camp sites grew and stretched along the creek side. Several landmark buildings were built as a stopping place for travelers such as The Shingle Spring House which was built by the Bartlett brothers and The Wells Fargo & Co Building on the highway which was referred to historically as the “Stone House” which was ultimately demolished. The rich history in Shingle Springs carries on in present day and the town continues to grow rapidly with new residents every year. We recently had an attic fire that caused a lot of smoke damage in the house. So all of our belongings had to be removed for cleaning or discarding. The insurance company sent in SERVPRO of El Dorado Hills to pack up our belongings, and they did a really good job. It’s a big house so it was a big job. I worked most closely with Janet and Maria, but the whole team was really good at what they do and work well together. Janet managed the project as well as packing. Janet is very good at her job… She provided great communication and exceptional customer service. Very thankful for her skills, and the care and pride she takes in in doing her job. Maria did a lot of the packing and there was a LOT to do in a large house. During packing, Maria was always careful to watch for, and pull out, any personal/confidential paperwork that we missed to ensure it could be disposed of correctly. Any time she was cleaning out a closet or dresser with contents destined to be discarded, if she came across an item of possible value…, she held it aside to ask if we wanted it. This was very appreciated, and we ended up saving some items of value/sentiment that we were glad to have saved. Outstanding customer service. Arturo helped In managing tasks to be done. I appreciated his questions and his thoroughness in double checking with me regarding items to be kept vs discarded. Stonewall and Stanley did the bulk of the heavy lifting (literally). They moved most of the furniture and were very careful with our belongings. Overall, this whole team was great - professional and courteous, and I couldn’t have asked for better customer service. They made a difficult time a whole lot easier. I also want to thank Kelsey for her courtesy and patience in answering all of my (many) questions. Her friendly, upbeat nature helped me stay positive during a difficult time. I highly recommend the SERVPRO team from El Dorado Hills. They did a great job!
This is the 2nd time we have used SERVPRO of El Dorado Hills/Placerville and we are still so impressed with how well maintained the vehicles are, how tidy the staff looks, and how wonderful they treat us when we have had our hot water heater break and now this week we experienced a dishwasher leak!
I am so happy that we know SERVPRO of El Dorado Hills/Placerville will always help us out... whatever time of day that may be!!!
