  • Longtime contributors to the Greater Boston Food Bank, Joanna and Nigel Travis join SERVPRO HQ and local franchises to support the event’s mission

Gallatin, Tennessee, and Boston, Massachusetts, October 17, 2024—SERVPRO Headquarters proudly participated in the annual Women Fighting Hunger Breakfast, donating $25,000 as a Sustaining Sponsor to support the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB). The event, held to raise awareness and funds to combat food insecurity in Eastern Massachusetts, has collectively raised over $2.5 million since its inception.

Joanna Travis, previously honored for her contributions to the Women Fighting Hunger cause, took center stage at this year’s event, helping to honor philanthropist Randi Cutler. Randi has been recognized for her efforts in combatting food insecurity and advocating for the health and well-being of vulnerable populations, particularly children. Joanna was joined by her husband, SERVPRO Chairman Nigel Travis, along with headquarters teammates from Gallatin, Tennessee, and local representatives from several franchises in the Greater Boston area, all of whom came together to support this vital cause.

The Women Fighting Hunger initiative, organized by GBFB, serves as a critical force in addressing hunger across the state. Each year, the breakfast brings together business and community leaders who are dedicated to making a difference in the fight against food insecurity. Through its involvement, SERVPRO demonstrates its ongoing commitment to community causes and giving back to the regions in which it operates.

“Hunger is a serious issue that affects far too many families in our region,” said Nigel Travis. “We are honored to participate in such a meaningful cause, and I’m excited that SERVPRO has joined us in our mission. The Greater Boston Food Bank’s work is truly inspiring, and we’re proud to be a part of this impactful event.”

For SERVPRO, this donation is just one part of a broader initiative to support local communities, reflecting the company’s dedication to health and well-being far beyond its core business of restoration and recovery services.
