However, during the 2012-2013 school year it was designated a Governor’s Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) Academy.  Landstown High is designed for 2,000 students.  It is built on a 65- acre campus covering 274,701 square feet. Also, in the Landstown neighborhood is Sentara Princess Anne Hospital which opened its doors in 2011. It is a 250-bed facility featuring private rooms and specializes in Orthopedic, Gynecological, and urological services.  The facility sees approximately 200,000 patients a year and as many as 100,000 in the Emergency room.
