This Historic Neighborhood Started as a Railroad Station
The area was founded in 1872 as a station midway between Spring and Navasota, Texas. It was named for a man that was the railroad superintendent at the time. At one time the neighborhood was known for agriculture. Hufsmith farmers grew potato crops and cotton. Located just north of Houston, all of the amenities of downtown are a short drive away. There are plenty of things to see in and around Hufsmith. There are a number of interesting antique shops and boutiques. There is also a popular Farmer's Market nearby. One of their special events is the Sunday Funday Farm to Table Brunch Fundraiser.
