In 1969 the 55th Oregon Legislative Assembly established a boundary review board to prevent an increase in small incorporated cities, but proponents of Johnson City incorporation had filed for an election before the law took off. The City hall located in Johnson City is located across the street from Mordock Park and Lake LEona.Johnson city receives an annual precipitation of 48 inches. Precipitation includes rain and liquid equivalent to snow, hail, freezing rain , sleet.
