Before the fire district was formed, the residents of Spring Brook and the surrounding communities were relegated to relatively simple forms of firefighting. Bucket brigades would assemble in case of fire, but they were no match for larger blazes that could form in barns, on farms and in homes and businesses around the community.
Spring Brook Fire District #1 changed all that. Over the course of the following decades, they built their ranks and purchased modern equipment to support their neighbors and keep them safe. In 1925, their first fire hall was built. By 1989, they’d outgrown it, moving to the hall that they work out of today.
