Joint Water Commission
An interesting note about Golden Valley is that, with the cities of Crystal and New Hope, they formed the Join Water Commission. This allows these three cities to purchase water directly from the City of Minneapolis in a fair and equitable manner. The City of Minneapolis draws its water directly from the Mississippi, which is then treated and delivered through piping to Golden Valley. The city is responsible for maintenance and repair of the water system up to the right-of-way line. Anything past that is your responsibility!
