History of Superior
The History of Superior, Colorado began with the first inhabitants of Colorado. The first people to live in this area were Native Americans. They lived off the land and hunted deer, elk and buffalo. As time passed on, these natives used dogs to pull sleds during their hunting times. These sleds would be made out of wood so they wouldn’t dig into the snow during the winter months. In the year 1858, a man named Aron Thayer and his family were among the first to settle in Superior and make it what it is today.
