Lafayette, Colorado is a beautiful town on the Eastern Plains of Colorado. The area was first settled in 1876, and named after a French General who fought for American Independence. Lafayette became a center for growing hops for beer brewing, and today most of the historic downtown streets are lined with brick sidewalks that had been built to support the tall hop vines as they grew up from newly built wooden poles placed in front of each square or two row house or building along each side street in this town developed during 1860s and 70s.
