Bordentown Township was created in 1852 by an act of the NJ State Legislature. Located in Central Jersey on the banks of the Delaware River, it has an interesting and rich history of meeting the needs of its community, much like SERVPRO’s history of meeting the water, fire & mold restoration needs for residents and businesses in Bordentown Township.
As the township was being created, the local residents were reaching out to a young woman to establish a free school for the children of the area. Clarissa Harlow Barton, better known as Clara Barton, was asked to start a school in 1852. The humble school began with just 6 students in a small red brick building. Quickly the residents embraced the educational opportunity and in just one year the enrollment grew to 600 students and a new 8 room school was built. However, with the new size and enrollment, founding fathers felt it was best run by a new male principal, leaving Clara without a role.
Bordentown Township’s loss was our country’s gain. Clara Barton went on to be one of the first women employed by the Federal Government and to later establish the American Red Cross. At the onset of the Civil War, she gathered and delivered supplies to Union Soldiers. Known to many soldiers in the Civil War as the “Angel of the Battlefield” she began nursing any fallen soldier, Union or Confederate. She was passionate about helping people in times of conflict and disasters, “You must never think of anything except the need and how to meet it.”

From the very beginning of the entire service experience until the completion, each and every staff member involved in helping Scott, was highly professional, hard working, thorough, and polite and courteous. I was immediately impressed during my initial phone call to your company. Casey Smith, the office manager promptly answered my call. After I explained our urgent need for the SERVPRO services, she very quickly arranged a prompt evaluation if Scott’s home. She was also so helpful in sending her team on the days Scott was off from work. Any and all further interactions with Casey resulted in her being kind and caring and professional. She always conveyed a desire to be of help. Scott informed me that the three men who came to his home were also very kind and courteous hard workers who took pride in doing a really good job! They explained step by step and made every effort to thoroughly clean and disinfect Scott’s home so that he could safely return to live in it being free of the health and safety hazards from the mice infestation. These amazing workers often went above and beyond to provide a solution when they encountered a new problem. They restored his home! Your organization is blessed with such outstanding people! A dishwasher leak ruined wood flooring of a Hamilton, NJ home. SERVPRO provided mitigation ( water clean up) and replaced the flooring. The client was very impressed our crew chief, Brian, and mentioned that the overall service from start to finish was well done.
