Ranchester, Wyoming is a small-town built on rails and ties that was incorporated in 1911. It was named by a local rancher named S.H. Hardin who owned a ranch encompassing several thousand acres. Hardin was native to England, and many of his home country’s towns ended in “chester,” therefore he decided that due to the many ranchlands to name the town Ranchester. Historic U.S. Highway 14 runs through the center of town, heading over the Bighorns via the Big Horn Scenic Byway, ending at the gate to Yellowstone National Park making Ranchester a first stop for many tourists heading west.

My 2015 Ford Explorer Sport sat outside for 8 weeks during Covid19. I didn't need to drive. When I finally started it I found that a packrat or mouse had died into the vehicle's air system.
