New York Lumberman George Stevens for whom Stevens Point was named after, unloaded his supplies at what was first called Stevens’ Landing. He operated a grocery and supply business on the Wisconsin River during the extensive logging of interior Wisconsin. The city flourished during this time along the river. In 1857, a year before the city was founded, the Stevens Point Brewery provided beer to Union troops during the Civil War and survived prohibition and brought national attention to the city and is still in operation to this day. A common icon for the Stevens Point Brewery is "the man with the pointy head". His name is unknown, but he was adopted as the mascot.
Stevens Point is not only the largest city in Portage County but has a strong tradition and investment in higher education with the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and their school mascot, a dog named “Stevie”.

I would give SERVPRO 10 stars if I could! We had a dishwasher install gone wrong and our finished basement had significant water damage. I called SERVPRO and they were here the next day to dry everything out. They were extremely responsive and came every single day to check on the drying process in the kitchen and basement. They were extremely flexible with scheduling the repairs. Looking at the finished project, you’d never know we had any sort of damage at all. All of the staff is very professional and friendly. If you have water damage, they are the ones to call!!

I had frozen pipes last winter and the crew went above and beyond to make my spare bedroom and laundry room look so much better than it did before the damage. The crew didn't hesitate to move furniture to different rooms when asked. I am so pleased, I tell everyone about SERVPRO. They are DEFFINATELY a "class act"!!!

I have dealt with every company in Central Wisconsin many times as an adjuster and nobody provides the spot on services that SERVPRO of Stevens Point, Wausau, and Marshfield does. They are a one stop shop that gets jobs done. The work on my property was great! In our area they are the only serious choice when it comes to insurance claim work.

He wasn’t pushy and listened to what we needed done and didn’t pressure us into anything extra. He answered all of our questions and was there the day after we called.
