An area located between the Wolf River and the Tomorrow River, known as “Indian Land”, Iola-Scandinavia was originally home to the Menomonee tribe. In 1852, the area was settled by immigrants from New England, Switzerland, and Norway. The first dam was built in 1853, sawmill in 1854, and the Iola and Northern Railroad company was formed in 1893.
Today, Iola and Scandiniavia are home to about 1,570 people. One of the largest Midwest car shows, popularly know as the Iola Old Car Show and Swap Meet is held in Iola and has been running for 50 years. There are about 4,000 swap spaces, 2,500 show cars, 350 car corral spaces, and 1,600 campsites. It’s not uncommon for 120,000 or more people to attend the show every year. Tastes and Tunes of Iola-Scandinavia is another event hosted by this humble Wisconsin town. It’s a day long event featuring various genres of music and food.
If you’re interested in history, the Iola Historical Society has beautifully restored the 19th century grist and sawmill. They also have a Train Depot, Caboose, Old School House, Log Cabin, and Helvetia Town Hall. The created a replica of the 1901 fire station as well.
Activities don’t slow down when the snow starts to fly. Iola’s Winter Sports Club offers ski jumping, miles of snowshoeing trails, and groomed and lightened cross country ski trails. There are plenty of opportunities for hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling due to the large number of lakes, rivers, and public land.
Other towns that are close by are Ogdensburg, Peru, New Hope, and Sheridan.

I would give SERVPRO 10 stars if I could! We had a dishwasher install gone wrong and our finished basement had significant water damage. I called SERVPRO and they were here the next day to dry everything out. They were extremely responsive and came every single day to check on the drying process in the kitchen and basement. They were extremely flexible with scheduling the repairs. Looking at the finished project, you’d never know we had any sort of damage at all. All of the staff is very professional and friendly. If you have water damage, they are the ones to call!!

I had frozen pipes last winter and the crew went above and beyond to make my spare bedroom and laundry room look so much better than it did before the damage. The crew didn't hesitate to move furniture to different rooms when asked. I am so pleased, I tell everyone about SERVPRO. They are DEFFINATELY a "class act"!!!

I have dealt with every company in Central Wisconsin many times as an adjuster and nobody provides the spot on services that SERVPRO of Stevens Point, Wausau, and Marshfield does. They are a one stop shop that gets jobs done. The work on my property was great! In our area they are the only serious choice when it comes to insurance claim work.

He wasn’t pushy and listened to what we needed done and didn’t pressure us into anything extra. He answered all of our questions and was there the day after we called.
