Spotsylvania Cleanup and Restoration

Spotsylvania, known as the “Crossroads of the Civil War,” four major Civil War battles were fought on Spotsylvania soil including one of the bloodiest of the wars, the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse, in May 1864. You can visit many battlefields in Spotsylvania and they have signs to educate you as to what to place at each battlefield.  You will even still see fences left as they were from the civil war and you will see cannons from that day, too.  The population was 5,610 as of the 2020 census. It lies 10 miles southwest of Fredericksburg and approximately 60 miles south of Washington D.C and about 50 miles north of Richmond, the state capital. Kalahari Resort is currently under construction and is Virginia's largest indoor waterpark, located just east of the community.  Bring the family out to Loriella Park located at 10910 Leavells Road, Route 639, features 18 Hole Disc Golf, 2.9 mile walking trails, 3 lighted multi-purpose fields, 4 lighted tennis courts, 3 restrooms, multi-purpose basketball court, playground with swings, 2 covered shelters (available to rent), outdoor swimming pool and outside exercise equipment.  Loriella Park is a district park that has 208 acres of land that is always hopping with Spotsylvania County Parks and Recreation teams on every field. Shopping in Spotsylvania is plentyful with the Spotsylvania Towne Centre which has department stores and right across the street we have Central Park with a lot more shopping and restaurants.
