Falmouth, Virginia, founded in 1728, is located in Stafford County just North of Fredericksburg on the Rappahannock River. Falmouth was created as a port town The Rappahannock River will flood with heavy rains creating flooded roads and water damage to homes.  Falmouth is a small suburban area with historic sites, lots of parks, art galleries, quaint, little shops and bakeries.  The Falmouth community has plenty of outdoor activities like fishing, kayaking, camping, and more that are available nearby. Located on the East Coast, Falmouth is 40 miles southwest of Baltimore, Maryland, and 120 miles Northeast of Richmond, Virginia.  Washington DC is just 50 miles north so Falmouth has become a great residential area for commuters both north and south.  The jobs here range from government work since it's so near the nation's capital to small business trades work. But there's more than that. Education, healthcare, and technology are big here, too. Living here can be quite pricey, especially when it comes to finding a home.
