While often considered part of Highland Park, University Park is also its own city inside the boundaries of Dallas, Texas. It’s the home of Southern Methodist University and the George W. Bush Presidential Center. SMU is a private university that was founded in April of 1911 by the Methodist Episcopal Church and in partnership with Dallas civic leaders. The University is located on 234 acres of land just west of interstate 75. The city of University Park was founded in 1915 and began as a cluster of homes surrounding the University. Now the population has grown to over 25,278 according to the 2020 US Census. Highland Park Independent School District serves the children living in this city with eight schools; Armstrong Elementary, Boone Elementary, Bradfield Elementary, Hyer Elementary, University Park Elementary, Highland Park Middle School, McCulloch Intermediate School and Highland Park High School.
Many of the homes in these neighboring towns are considered historic and have unique risk factors for water or fire damage such as outdated wiring or older pipes. Throughout the past 50 years, SERVPRO has helped many home and business owners with water damage restoration or fire damage restoration. Ford Stadium on SMU campus in University Park. The First Responder Bowl is a college bowl game that honors the First Responders. Although the project went over the time frame, it was very successful overall. SERVPRO did an excellent job with demolition and cleanup. Management was professional and very attentive to the needs of the job. This was a large job and was completed with great great satisfaction.
