Southwest Oaks is a small, quiet neighborhood in Austin, Texas that was built in the early 1980s. With new residents discovering the area, many of the homes have been recently remodeled. The neighborhood is 10 miles from Downtown Austin via Interstate 35. This is a good community for families. Longview neighborhood park is a short drive. This park has a playground, biking trails and dogs are allowed on leash. The Stephenson Nature Preserve & Outdoor Education Center is also close to Southwest Oaks. It's popular loop trail is considered a fun and easy hike. The nature preserve is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and walking. This neighborhood is also great if you are a musician or performer. The unique rehearsal and recording center, Space ATX is on the edge of the community. Space is a great venue for rehearsal and recording situated on 9-acres. They feature 31 spacious rooms, wide gallery-lit corridors and excellent parking.
