Located just five miles north of downtown Wichita Falls, Sheppard Air Force Base is home to the 82d Training Wing, the largest and most diversified training base in the AETC.

Sheppard AFB is home of the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) program, a multi-nationally manned and managed flying training program chartered to produce combat pilots for both USAF and NATO. This internationally manned and managed flying training program is the only one in the world.

Founded in 1941, the base is rich in military history. It has seen the advent of new aircraft technologies, was the landing zone for the Space Shuttle Discovery, and was a vital medical facility during the Vietnam War.

Today, Sheppard Air Force Base continues to grow and serve the needs of our military communities across the country, and around the world.
