Oak Tree Village is a neighborhood in Northeast Dallas, most well known for its red-tile roofed townhomes and mature trees.
Dallas' Oak Tree Village area has a climate similar to that of the rest of the city. The average temperature in Dallas is about 75 degrees, and summer days can get very hot—reaching 100 degrees Fahrenheit on some really sizzling afternoons. Oak Tree Village gets cold winters and occasional snowfall, but the accumulation is usually very light.
History of Oak Tree Village
Oak Tree Village was created in 1975 to create a safe space for residents with permanent parks, playgrounds, and open spaces. The development of the community started with the building of the clubhouse as well as the houses on Knobby Tree and Orchard Hill. In 1977, phase two of development began with the construction of houses on Glenacre, Robin Song, Oak Stream, and Gray Rock.
In 1978, the Oak Tree Village Association took over as the administrator of the village. The Oak Tree Village Association is made up of volunteer homeowners in the community.
