Lakeway, Texas is an exurb (an area outside a denser suburban area) to the Greater Austin Area. It is located near Lake Travis in Travis County. The weather in Lakeway, Texas is similar to that of the rest of the Greater Austin area -- mild to warm year round. The coldest months have a high of 61 degrees Fahrenheit while the warmer months have a high of 96 degrees Fahrenheit. According to evidence found, the Greater Austin Area has been inhabited as far back as the Ice Age. When European settlers arrived, Native Americans of the Tonkawa tribe were in the area.
