This small but growing young town began in the late 60's as a 30-acre mobile home park founded by a local firefighter named N.L. "Moe" Craddock.  When neighboring communities began the process of annexing his property and business, Craddock pushed for the incorporation of Glenn Heights.  He then went on serve on the city council as well as being elected mayor for 4 consecutive terms during the 1980's and 1990's.  Today Glenn Heights boasts a diverse population with full-time police and fire departments to serve the community.  It is also home to the world-famous HI-HO campground that draws international travelers to the area and contributes to the local economy.
