Elizabeth is an area in Beaumont, Texas that is near Phelan Boulevard and North Major Drive. The weather in Elizabeth is similar to the weather in the rest of Beaumont - fairly mild year-round. History of Beaumont, Texas

Noah and Nancy Tevis settled in what is now Beaumont in 1824. They settled along the west bank of the Neches River. The community sprung up around their farm and came to be known as Tevis Bluff or Neches River Settlement.

The Neches River Settlement was there about 11 years before the land was purchased and the city of Beaumont was planned. As of December 16, 1938, the town of Beaumont was official.

The Port of Beaumont became an important port, making the area important for rice-milling and lumber. In 1901, oil was discovered near Spindletop, and it became one of the first and largest oil fields in American history.

In more recent history, Hurricane Harvey devastated the area, and SERVPRO was there to help.
