The city was founded in 1807 and named after William Clark Walden. Walden is also known for its rich history, scenic views and amazing rock formations near the Cumberland river.
The History of Walden, TN
Walden, Tennessee is a small unincorporated community located in northern Lincoln County along the Cumberland River. Walden has a rich history dating back to the late 1700’s and early 1800’s. The town was originally established as a ferry landing site and became known as “Williams Ferry” after the original owner of the property, Rev. David Williams.
