The History of Ridgeside, TN
It was originally known as Snodgrass' Ridge and was renamed to Ridgeside in 1807. Ridgeside has a storied history that includes being home to many prominent citizens. Although it is not a municipality, it has its own unique history and many attractions to experience. There are 4 attractions that stand out from the rest: The Ridgeside community park, The Ridgeside train station and museum, Hunting land and farms, and bird watching.
Location
Ridgeside, Tennessee is a small unincorporated community of about 75 families located in the southern end of Hamilton County, in east Tennessee. It is surrounded by the beautiful Cherokee National Forest to the east and the rolling hills of the Cumberland Plateau to the north and west. The main roads through town are TN Highway 80 and Laurel Valley Road (also Highway 80).
