Colonial Heights is located in Sullivan County, Tennessee, United States. It is surrounded by the city of Kingsport. The population was 3,055 at the 2020 census down from 6,934 at the 2010 census due to annexation by the city of Kingsport. According to the United States Census Bureau, Colonial Heights has a total of 6.2 square miles, of which 6.0 square miles of it is land and 0.3 square miles of it is water. In Colonial Heights, there are 18.4 days annually when the high temperature is over 90°, which is cooler than most places in Tennessee. This family-friendly neighborhood has access to the 950-acre outdoor recreation at beautiful Warrior’s Path State Park and is only minutes from the Tri-Cities Regional Airport. Warriors’ Path State Park was named for the Great Cherokee War and Trading Path. Since that time, the park land has known a long history of travelers and is still a pathway for modern-day outdoor enthusiasts. The 950-acre park is located on the shores of the Patrick Henry Reservoir on the Holston River. The park is home to premier boating and fishing activity, hiking trails, an internationally-renowned mountain bike trail system (which is a designated National Recreational Trail), an award-winning nature education program and a nationally recognized golf course.
