New Underwood (Lakota: "new undergrowth") is a city in Pennington County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 590 at the 2020 Census. New Underwood got its start circa 1906. The city was named for John Underwood, a cattleman. Until 2017, it was home to the world’s smallest biker bar, which is now closed. As of the census of 2010, there were 660 people, 248 households, and 162 families living in the city. The population density was 660.0 inhabitants per square mile (254.8/km2). There were 280 housing units at an average density of 280.0 per square mile. SERVPRO serves any household or business with fire damage restoration, water restoration, or mold mitigation. Interstate 90 is the primary east–west route for Rapid City. The city is served by a series of 7 exits. I-90 skims the northern side of the city. The South Dakota DOT has been reconstructing most of these interchanges in the last five years. Known as the "Gateway to the Black Hills" and the "City of Presidents" The public discovery of gold in 1874 by the Black Hills Expedition, led by George Armstrong Custer, brought a mass influx of European-American miners and settlers into this region of the Dakota Territory. A group of unsuccessful miners founded Rapid City in 1876, trying to create other chances; they promoted their new city as the "Gateway to the Black Hills." Everyone that came to our house to do the clean up, dry the carpet and walls, re-stretch the carpet and clean the carpet were great. Friendly. Introduced themselves when they came in. Offered information and advice all along the way. Not to say any one service was better than another, they were all equally great, but the initial clean up crew went to great lengths. They even removed more of the damaged sheet rock from the ceiling and wall. Trimmed it back, so the sheet rock repair was ready to go. Re-stretching and cleaning the carpet went very well, the results were great. Thank you All!

The SERVPRO crew was amazing. They came in and helped us find the cause of the leak in our house that was causing the damage. They explained in detail the steps they would take to dry and clean the damaged areas. They were professional and courteous! 5 Stars!
I recently went through the Cleghorn fire and my insurance company sent SERVPRO to come clean and sanitize my home from smoke damage. They were prompt, professional and went above and beyond anything I had imagined. Very knowledgeable in their job and have compassion for what people go through. They cleaned clothes, bedding and rugs and delivered dog beds to keep my pets safe too. I highly recommend them and thank you crew for helping get my life back together.
