History of Watsontown

The Watsontown area was originally settled in the late 1700s by numerous German families and named after Capt. David Watson, a leader in the local militia. Watsontown, Pennsylvania was founded by John Thompson in 1827. Though it was originally known as Thompson's Cross Roads, this small town eventually became known for its abundant water sources and beautiful scenery. Watsontown became a town in 1826, and historic buildings still line Main Street, including limestone homes built by 19th-century merchants.

Special thanks to Alex Taylor, Crew Chief.  Four months ago we had an oil spill in our basement causing oil stains on the floor and a very strong odor of oil throughout our home. Alex scrubbed the floor and worked hard to get rid of the oil smell so that we could safely remain in our home. The kindness and concern he showed us throughout this very difficult time is greatly appreciated.
