Nockamixon was founded in 1742 by settlers who moved over from Tinicium township. There are a lot of scenic sites in the township, many of which are creeks. Some of them are Beaver Creek, Cauffman Hill, Gallows Hill, Gallows Run, Haycock Creek, Lake Warren, Narrows Creek, The Narrows, and Tinicum Creek. Nockamixon state park is also located in the township. It gathers a lot of visitors especially during the summer months. Kintnersville is a historic village located in Nockamixon. It was named after a German family who settled on the land in 1763. The family would go on to serve in the American Revolution and the war of 1812. Some of the historic family homes and farm buildings are still standing today.
