Pleasant City Cleanup and Restoration

While most people don't know this about Pleasant City, it is actual a key place in the Civil War. Pleasant City is where Morgan's Raid took place, a raid that took place all across the area and captured 6,000 Union soldiers. This happened during the same days as the Battle of Gettsyburg. While this brought a lot of attention to the town and it continued to grow through the 1950's, it now lays dormant with a population less than 500 people. While it isn't in production anymore, it is neat to know that this once gave the entire area its baked goods. Another beautiful building is St. Michael’s Byzantine Church. This was built during the midcentury in order to give the growing population a place to worship. It is still standing today, and is used just as it once was.
