The hamlet of Ulster Park is located off Route 9W in the town of Esopus and just 5 miles away from Kingston. Woodsy, serene, untouched by big commerce and housing booms, this ideal location has only seen a 5% growth in population since COVID-19. Other areas in Ulster County had a much higher increase in the need for more housing due to an influx of folks from the city heading north.
The beautiful Shaupeneak Ridge Park is a hiker’s dream no matter the skill level you have and offers ponds, waterfalls, and river views. The El Paso Winery is a neat spot and stands right on the road. This small winery is almost 30 years old, housed in a 125-year-old barn and offers free tastings, tours, a gift shop and hosts occasional events. Also well-known to the area is the Headless Horseman Haunted Attraction venue. With both family friendly and adult friendly Fall and Halloween events, they do draw significant crowds in October but worth the wait in line!

While I was familiar with SERVPRO’s services a friend suggested I call Wanda directly to ensure a team was expedited quickly and efficiently. My experience with Wanda was nothing less than exceptional. I was in a total state of panic, Wanda was calm but had a strong sense of urgency while being extremely compassionate. She gave direction on what I needed to do with my insurance company, and recommended a septic service provider because the plumber was not resolving the issue. She had her contact reach out to me immediately, had him onsite resolving the issue all within a couple of hours. She stayed in contact with me throughout to ensure we didn’t need anything else, and made sure the SERVPRO team was deployed as soon as we were ready. It was an extremely stressful situation for many reasons and Wanda made me feel totally supported. As an account management/customer service professional I truly value and recognize when someone goes above and beyond. I would also be remiss if I did not acknowledge Gil Ortiz who was very thorough and helpful, and the team that was onsite that did the cleaning (unfortunately I don’t recall these names but hopefully you can reference internally). They were all also very professional and provided superior service. While I hope not to have another disaster I would highly recommend Wanda and SERVPRO to family and friends.
I highly recommend SERVPRO. They came to our rescue when we came home to a flood in our kitchen and basement. Their crews were professional and knowledgeable. They took an awful situation and made it so much better. The reconstruction crew was amazing as well. They always kept us in the loop and did fantastic work reconstructing our basement and kitchen. I recommend them highly.
