On the west bank of the Hudson River in Ulster County, just south of Kingston, likes the town of Esopus. Founded in 1811 as a barter agreement with the Lenape Tribe of the area, “Esopus” means Small River to the local tribe. In the early 19thcentury, the Esopus area was popular with the super wealthy like the Astor’s, the Rockefeller’s, the Tiffany’s and the Whitney’s who built some of the most stunning mansions and hunting lodges, almost to compete with those similar families on the east bank, like the Vanderbilts and the Roosevelts!

I am writing to recognize Wanda Grinder, she came to the rescue when we had a septic backup.
While I was familiar with SERVPRO’s services a friend suggested I call Wanda directly to ensure a team was expedited quickly and efficiently. My experience with Wanda was nothing less than exceptional. I was in a total state of panic, Wanda was calm but had a strong sense of urgency while being extremely compassionate. She gave direction on what I needed to do with my insurance company, and recommended a septic service provider because the plumber was not resolving the issue. She had her contact reach out to me immediately, had him onsite resolving the issue all within a couple of hours. She stayed in contact with me throughout to ensure we didn’t need anything else, and made sure the SERVPRO team was deployed as soon as we were ready. It was an extremely stressful situation for many reasons and Wanda made me feel totally supported. As an account management/customer service professional I truly value and recognize when someone goes above and beyond. I would also be remiss if I did not acknowledge Gil Ortiz who was very thorough and helpful, and the team that was onsite that did the cleaning (unfortunately I don’t recall these names but hopefully you can reference internally). They were all also very professional and provided superior service. While I hope not to have another disaster I would highly recommend Wanda and SERVPRO to family and friends.
I highly recommend SERVPRO. They came to our rescue when we came home to a flood in our kitchen and basement. Their crews were professional and knowledgeable. They took an awful situation and made it so much better. The reconstruction crew was amazing as well. They always kept us in the loop and did fantastic work reconstructing our basement and kitchen. I recommend them highly.
