Seaside Park is an idealistic beach town at the Jersey Shore that is on the Barnegat Peninsula, a long, narrow barrier island that separates mainland from the Atlantic Ocean. The town has long stretches of white sandy beaches and is known for its family friendly vibe. Seaside Park Boardwalk is approximately 2 miles long and is perfect to walk, jog or run on while enjoying the salty air. Island Beach State Park is at the south end and has huge parking lots, bathrooms, food stands and lot A has the Red Fox Restaurant, perfect for enjoying the fresh air along with fresh seafood. There are nature walks where you can may see ospreys, sandpipers, wrens and skimmers but you will most likely always see some gulls. Midway Beach is another beautiful beach but it is a private beach for residents only. Right outside Island Beach is some great local seafood restaurants including Bum Rogers that has the best garlic crabs and Chef Mike’s ABG for scallops. The bay beaches are great for calmer waters for paddle boarding, kayaking or taking a dip to cool off.
In the fall, make sure to enjoy jumbo pizza at the Sawmill or on Football Sundays enjoy their famous pig roast while watching football at their bar. Fall is perfect weather for taking the kids or grandkids to one of three bayside parks. Don’t miss out on the farmers market in the fall before it gets too cold and closes for the winter season.
