Rockleigh is small but beautiful and unique community located in the state of New Jersey. It is rich with history that stretches all the way back to the colonial area and if a person digs into its past, one can find out the reason for its small size. The town back in 1769 was part of a territory dispute that was settled during that time period, which was when a boundary line was created between the state of New York and New Jersey due to a bitter dispute. Today the district has stayed practically the same in regards to the amount of land belonging to the town. Rockleigh is rural in character comprised of large open fields and meadows along with dense wooded area. It is a nice and peaceful place to settle down and gets most of their services through the Borough of Northvale which has outstanding schools making the town of Rockleigh a desirable location to live for families. Even though it’s a small town there are a few places that residents and visitors occupied. The town has the Rockleigh Golf Course which is a great location to host golf outings and a very special location for those that enjoy horseback riding. Sometimes one can forget that it’s only a short drive away from New York City.
