History of Wallburg
The town of Wallburg, NC is the sixth largest city within Davidson County. In 2004, Wallburg became an incorporated town. Today it has a population of approximately 3,048. It is also home to the following education systems: Wallburg Elementary, Oak Grove Middle School, and Ledford Senior High School. Wallburg Town Park is where the people in the town of Wallburg have access to rent picnic shelters for up to four hours that can host family reunions, birthday parties, graduation parties, etc.
A local eatery in the area is known as the Wallburg Diner. With daily specials offered, such as BBQ Ribs, Fried Chicken Livers, and Baja Shrimp Tacos, the locals are raving about this diner that is recently under new ownership. Wallburg Diner also offers on occasion a free online cooking class.
Wallburg also hosts the historic Wall House. In 2016, the town of Wallburg purchased the home that was built in 1896. It is one of the finest and unaltered Queen Anne Revival architecture in Davidson County. This home is a direct reflection of the late nineteenth-century industrial boom throughout the piedmont of North Carolina. The house is located on Main Street in Wallburg, where the owner/builder, George W. Wall, and his brothers founded a lumber company in the late 1880s.
