Situated just 30 minutes North of Springfield is the town of Walnut Grove. Walnut Grove was incorporated into a township in 1866, named for the grove of wild black walnut trees growing near the original site of the town. The trail was designated a National Recreation Trail by the National Parks Service in 2004.

The cleaning crew got all the new dust, a lot of old dust, foot prints, finger prints and make everything spick and span.
