Whitmore Lake MI is a census – designated place and an unincorporated area. The community covers the area between Green Oak Twp in Livingston County and Northfield Twp in Washtenaw County. Whitmore Lake is equal distances from Brighton MI and Ann Arbor MI making it a quaint place to live with access to larger city life. Most of Whitmore Lake surrounds Whitmore Lake itself as well as Horsehoe Lake, Lawton Lake and Monahan Lake. Whitmore Lake was given it’s name by Jonathan F Stratton in 1825 after a local landowner Luke H Whitmore
Though it may be small, Whitmore Lake offers three major festivals a year. The Fourth of July Celebration is a weekend long celebration for Independence Day. Many activities can be found at this celebration including a fireworks display over the lake, a boat parade and a ski show performed by the Whitmore Lake Water Ski Club. The Harvest Festival is next in line for celebrations during the year. The Harvest Festival is a two day event that takes place at the end of September. It was first started in 2007, the primary function was to adopt a pet or donate money towards the cause. The last and final event of the year is the Michigan Pond Hockey Classic. The Michigan Pond Hockey Classic is an adult pond hockey tournament held on Whitmore Lake. This event raises money for families and local schools to support young athletes.

My wife and I just bought our home in July 2018, we experienced our first water loss ever in January 2019. Our washing machine malfunctioned causing a flood in our laundry room, which then went into the kitchen, the half bath, and down into the basement. All flooring had to go, bathroom gutted, laundry room gutted, and basement down to cement. It was a horrible experience but we cant say enough good things about SERVPRO, and their staff. Carolyn and Chad handled everything in the office, and were always available for questions and there was a clear line of communication. Paul handled our demo work, he was clean, and was kind to my wife as she was emotional about everything. Alex worked as our project manager and went above and beyond during construction. 2 months after everything is complete and we could not be happier. We would HIGHLY suggest using SERVPRO of Brighton/Howell if you ever find yourself with a water loss.
