What Is the Mold Remediation Process?
Air Filtration
Our specialized filtration equipment allows our professionals to capture microscopic mold spores out of the air. We utilize powerful “air scrubbers” and HEPA vacuums to prevent the spread of these mold spores while the mold remediation is in process.
Removing Mold and Mold-Infested Materials
We use antifungal and antimicrobial treatments to treat mold colonies. When necessary to remediate heavy mold growth, our mold removal process includes the removal and disposal of mold-infested porous materials such as carpeting, drywall, and insulation.
Cleaning
Our professionals clean the structural elements that were infected by mold such as flooring, framing, fixtures, HVAC and mechanical systems. We will also work to improve the indoor air quality (IAQ) of the space. Other items may also require extra attention after a mold infestation, including curtains, décor and important documents.
Restoration
Depending on the level of mold damage, drywall, subfloors, and other building materials may be removed. Back in August we had a huge amount of water get in our basement after a huge rainfall. I'm an avid vinyl collector and the basement is where most of my collection is. I lost quite a few, unfortunately and probably would have lost more if it had not been for the people of SERVPRO of North Oakland County. They did a fantastic job with the relocation and storage of all our valuables and things in the basement that potentially could have been ruined for good. They did such an amazing job.

Imagine your worst nightmare of coming home from a week long vacation to a flooded basement! That is exactly what my wife and I came home to last week and I couldn't be happier that Zach and his team at SERVPRO were my first phone call. They took a very stressful situation and made it as easy and straight forward to the homeowner as possible. Even at the late hour I was impressed with how fast a team was at my house to start working and take care of the situation at hand. The SERVPRO team members that were onsite were both knowledgeable and polite and explained the entire process so we felt comfortable with everything going on.
