Scio Township is often call "Scenic Scio", as it features rolling landscapes full of rivers and creeks. The Huron River, is the center of many recreational opportunities, with woodlands for hiking, wetlands, small lakes, and ponds. Local favorites include Dexter-Huron Metropark and Delhi Metropark, which offer picnic shelters, playgrounds, ballfields, canoe launches and river fishing. The Border-to-Border Trail also runs through the township.
Other recreational activities include the Ann Arbor Ice Cube, for ice skating and hockey, Ann Arbor Indoor Golf, Zeeb Golf and Driving Range, and the Polo Fields Golf and Country Club.
