Lake, a small town in Clare county, was established during the logging era in Michigan. Used as a " whistle stop" along the Pere Marquette Railway Line. The lakes around here boost an array of activities for both summer and winter, such as fishing, and kayaking in the summer to ice fishing in the winter season. The Pere Marquette Rail Trail also goes through Lake, Michigan, helping to create a 30 mile scenic trail for residents and tourist to enjoy. The Pere Marquette Rail Trail is part of several rail trail systems that link together throughout the state of Michigan.
