Alexandria, Louisiana was first settled by Spain in the 1780's. It was incorporated as a town in 1818. Alexandria is the hub of Central Louisiana (Cenla) and is the 9th largest city in Louisiana. We have an international airport as well as a major rail road hub, major river with a port and major interstate. These school attract students from surrounding communities and help to bolster the local industry. Alexandria has a lot of agriculture and national forests. There are many fun outdoor activities in Cenla. Hiking and trail riding as well as hunting and fishing lend credence to the state moniker of "Sportsman's Paradise."
