Ingleside Cleanup and Restoration

Ingleside, Illinois is a community in the aptly named Lake County. It is between Fox Lake, Round Lake Heights, and Lake Villa. Closer in, were’ on the Indian River between Long Lake, Duck Lake, and Fox Lake. We head up toward Lake Villa. If you like boating, you’ll love Ingleside. 

We are close to Chicago, and we are nearly hugging the southern part of Wisconsin.  

We have ancient history about truly ancient history. During the 1960s, people found mammoth bones in this area! The bones tell us about the animals, of course, but also about the early humans who lived here. The bones show signs that hunters brought down the animal and butchered it, probably for building materials (bones), hides, and meat. That evidence means that humans were in North America even earlier than previous estimates – the bones are about 37,000 years old; what’s 500 years when you’re talking about dozens of millennia? At any rate, you can visit the bones any time that the Lakes Region Historical Society Museum in Antioch is open.
