The Trailbreak Campground is in the northwest corner of Glenns Ferry, next to the K-12 school. It has meager rates, offers pull-through sites and tent spaces, and has plenty of shade everywhere. Extended camping is available.
Other people come to Glenns Ferry to camp at Three Island Crossing State Park southwest of the city. These sites can only be reserved for up to two weeks, and with the wide variety of activities, two weeks might seem too short. Many enjoy the hiking and biking trails, disc golfing (which takes place on the three islands), and visiting the Oregon Trail's Education Center. Parts of the campground are available year-round.
Another wonderful amenity that calls Glenn's Ferry home is the Elmore County Fairgrounds. There are several events year-round here, and two this coming summer are the 2 Karat Showdown in June and the Rodeo held in July. The Showdown is the first annual event, initiated as a senior project to support the Branding Iron 4H and Castleford's Future Farmers of America. Weigh-ins start at 8:30 am June 29. The second event is the Fair and Rodeo Family Night Event. Previous rodeos lasted eight consecutive days. Activities included music shows, ziplines, wagon rides, paintball, and bungee jumping. **FIVE STARS** I'm going to preface this review with the fact that I have used and been highly dissatisfied with two other local companies. If you are shopping for a water/mold mitigation company, don't mess around, hire these guys! An ice dam during the ridiculous Sun Valley winter of 18-19 led us to hire SERVPRO. I'm not going to lie, I must have PTSD from previous experiences. As water dripped down my ceiling and walls, I felt hopeless. Time passed and I knew I needed to figure it out. Dr. Google surprised me with SERVPRO's contact info and within hours, the owner, Luke arrived at my house to begin the process of saving my home and my sanity. Luke, Eric (manager), and the entire crew were professional, timely, and helpful. The extensive water/mold mitigation work they did on my home, with my contractor, and with my PITA insurance company was completely unmatched. Additionally, I'm an over-communicator of sorts, and each phone call was met with incredible customer service! At the end of the process, I'm happy to say that my home is water-damage free (you guys...it looks amazing!) and my sanity has been restored. Thank you team SERVPRO. You're the best!
