Located in the Ewa district of southwest Oahu, Halawa is home to about 14,000 people. On the ocean side of Halawa is one of the state’s top tourist attractions, Pearl Harbor. Halawa Valley becomes wider near Pearl Harbor, and this is where most of the residential neighborhoods are located. An upland area to the west is called Halawa Heights which merges on its western edge with the neighborhoods of Aiea. Many homes in Halawa Heights have a nice view of Pearl Harbor, and a few can see all the way to Diamond Head.
Halawa Valley has many important cultural sites dating back to ancient times. During the construction of the H-3 Freeway (opened in 1997) the locals were at odds with the builders, as this roadway ran right through the valley. The compromise was to build much of the H-3 on a viaduct. This was done to alleviate flooding and destabilization concerns in the narrow valley while also preserving cultural sites and the quality of the watershed.
Halawa enjoys a tropical climate, characterized by warm temperatures year-round, and receives about 41” of rainfall annually. Often, due to the area being a valley, heavy rains can lead to flooding and water damage. SERVPRO® offers expertise in water damage restoration and mitigation. Outstanding Customer Service! We had a fire in our storage room that almost destroyed all my family keepsakes and treasured memories. SERVPRO® sent out a tech asap and they quickly took all the family items to try and salvage as much as they could. The crew came here 4-5 people, with their manager /team leader (Heather ) and she had everyone moving fast & efficient ! I would like to express how happy and satisfied I am as a customer of Frank’s construction work and his crew. Frank, Jien, and Mike work with SERVPRO® and as you can see in the photos I have posted here, Their work is excellent. I have had very bad experiences with construction work in the past so I was a bit hesitant when I had to redo my kitchen due to a burst pipe. Frank was extremely patient and respectful as to what I went through in the past and what I needed to get my kitchen redone. He began by providing me with a plan and worked with me on the items that my new kitchen needed. He and I went out to the stores to source what I was looking for. As I went through the aisles of the store, I would share what I wanted and Frank would advise me what would work and not work. He made sure that there would be no miscommunication from start to finish. Frank always made sure that I was within my budget with the insurance company and was kind enough to see where I could save on some things, which is very helpful when you are a retired person. I want to send out a deep heartfelt thank you to Frank, Jien, and Mike for their awesome work and such quick completion. I recommend them to anyone looking for great people to work with renovation work stemming from any damages.
