Elizabeth, nestled in the heart of Cobb County, Georgia, boasts a rich history as an incorporated municipality since 1885. Named in honor of a daughter of Joseph E. Brown, the 42nd Governor of Georgia, this charming community has left a lasting imprint on the region. Although the area within Elizabeth's original city limits has now been absorbed by the city of Marietta, its historical significance remains vibrant.
Today, Elizabeth serves as a key location for the Georgia Northeastern Railroad, with the spur line diverging from the main CSX tracks at Elizabeth Yard. Additionally, the community is home to the headquarters of Cobb EMC, further establishing its role as a vital hub in the region. Elizabeth continues to celebrate its unique heritage while contributing significantly to the broader Marietta area.

Sprayground @ Elizabeth Porter Park is OPEN for the summer of 2024! May 3rd, 2024 the Splash pad and water area opened. Daily Admission is $2 for Marietta Residents and $3 for non residents. Did you know the Party Pavilion and Sprayground are available for Private Rentals. We also heard Hawaiian Parad-ICE will be there!
There are a few things to remember when attending the Park. The Sprayground is closed on Mondays and a few additional days during the season for routine maintenance. It's recommended for kids 3 and up, and unfortunately no pets allowed (with the exception of service animals of course). The menu looks great! They have nacho, Uncrustables, candy, pretzels and of course the Hawaiian Shaved Ice we all love!
